So you're thinking of heading to Colombia. Firstly you need to know that it's incredible; the country's worked hard to eradicate preconceptions and improve security which has led to tourism growing substantially year on year. 

Colombia was our first port of call in South America and prior to landing we didn't hear anyone divert from the opinion of "oh my god it's amazing". Suffice to say we dove in enthusiastically and didn't look back. Whether you're after golden beaches, colonial cities full of colour, remote wilderness, desert landscapes or bustling nightlife, Colombia has it all.
