A pimping island Xmas
This post might be a little late but trust me when I say escaping to a remote Caribbean island for Christmas is nothing short of ingenious. To explain why it's so inspired, and how to achieve this sun-soaked getaway I'll break it down recipe-style.
Note: You can easily spice up the dish by adding extra items, however I'm not divulging ours as that's for us to know and appreciate - chop up and add your own flair.
First collect the ingredients:
6 fun-loving peeps ready to enjoy island life
1 pimping waterfront mansion complete with ocean pool
5 staff to take care of all your needs
1 suped-up golf buggy to race around the 30km island
Endless rum and champagne
Now it's time to cook (something we didn't have to do thanks to our 2 chefs). Did someone say #ballers.
Start off by tossing in an early arrival (at least a couple of days prior) to help settle into your mansion complete with 6 ensuite bathrooms all with water views. Advise soaking up the sun on a lounger with a rum-based beverage while letting the light sea breeze waft through the gardens tall palms.
Now for the meat of the dish. Start Xmas Day at your leisure with champagne and presents before settling into some serious eating (I'd suggest a smorgasbord of shellfish and seafood), drinking and making merry with your chefs as no one wants to feel left out.
This is a slow-cooked dish so no need to rush the day; periodically stroll outside to take in the tranquil waters while sipping on more rum, or rest your eyes while the next course is prepared.
Prior to serving add some extra flavour like busting out the 6 seater buggy to explore the island. Suggestions include finding a remote waterside shack complete with mind-alteringly strong cocktails, a rock jump into the crystal clear surf and most importantly one island native named Black Barry. This gent will entertain thanks to his love of Bob Marley (2 gold front teeth with B&M initials engraved), carefree attitude and how he needs you to taxi him and his family around the island 🌴.
Next mix in a night of dancing at a local club where your senses are awakened through the passionate mixture of salsa and regular dance music. Something for everyone I promise.
The final ingredient sprinkled prior to serving is simply to kick back at the islands best restaurants where mouthwatering seafood is served alongside crisp white wine, all on jetties overlooking that impressive ocean.
Now some recipes can be hard to follow or simply not deliver on expectations. Visiting San Andreas for Christmas is not one of those. It will leave you longing to return if only to carry on the laid back island lifestyle where real world hassles seem a million miles away...it might be something to do with the rum I have to admit 🤔!
