Ask 10 people to list Argentinian favourites and you're bound to hear about steak, Malbec, polo and the great outdoors. Fine they may also mention Messi and their faulty economy but footballers are pre-Madonna's (Evita pun intended), and this isn't a Wall Street Journal article so we're sidestepping the monetary issue. 

We were determined to get a gasp on all of the above, plus some extras and we achieved this despite the country being mind-boggling huge. 

From the roaring waterfalls bordering Brazil to the lush ranges of Patagonia, the bustle of Buenos Aires to the tranquility of Bariloche, Argentina delivers and will suit every taste if not every wallet - as backpackers we struggled with the near European price tags so we'd recommend bringing a credit card and having a job to return to!
