Drooling over Cartagena

Drooling over Cartagena

Quite possibly two of my favourite things: food and art. Even better when they're combined in the spectacular old city of Cartagena, Colombia.

If you're like me and hate tours, I suggest taking a walking tour designed for people who hate tours. Introducing Cartagena Connections! Fellow Aussie, Kristy has established a brilliant local walking tour company to give you a glimpse into Cartagena the way she experienced it. I like her style. Don't expect a stuffy guide, Kristy gives you the insider's guide - raw. Her energy and curiosity ensures this strut around Cartagena's old city is jam packed with plenty of local goodness and lots of laughs.

The two stars of the tour are street art and street food. Take a bow.

Cartagena's street art scene is booming, particularly in the Ghestamani area which is more like an outdoor art gallery. Wander down any lane way and you'll have your own private show.

Drool-worthy street food is everywhere from savoury to seriously sweet. It's worth every calorie.

I won't give a blow by blow account. Instead, I'll let the pictures tell the story.

DO IT: Cartegena Connections
